Refund Policy

1. Overview

MockTestPrepAI strives to provide a fair and transparent refund policy. Because our platform uses AI services that incur real costs the moment you start a test, refunds are limited. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

2. Subscription Plans (Monthly & Yearly)

2.1 Refund Eligible (Within 48 Hours, No Activity)

You may request a full refund within 48 hours of purchasing a subscription plan, provided that:

• You have not started any mock test (full or section)
• You have not used any practice exercises
• You have not generated any AI study plans
• You have not used the AI tutor

2.2 Non-Refundable

Refunds are NOT available if:

• You have started or completed any mock test or section practice
• You have used any AI-powered feature (practice, tutor, study plan)
• More than 48 hours have passed since purchase
• The subscription has been active for more than 7 days
• You have violated our Terms of Service

2.3 Plan Expiration

MockTestPrepAI subscriptions do not auto-renew. Your plan expires at the end of the billing period (30 days for monthly, 365 days for yearly). No refunds are issued for unused days when a plan expires naturally. You can renew at any time from your dashboard.

3. Pay-Per-Test Purchases

One-time test purchases (single test, 5-pack, 10-pack, section practice) are:

• Non-refundable once a test has been generated or started
• Refundable within 48 hours if no test has been started and no credits have been used
• Test credits do not expire — use them at your own pace

4. Why Refunds Are Limited

When you start a test or use an AI feature, the following happens immediately:

• AI question generation: Each test contains 50-70 unique questions, each individually generated by AI — over 70 separate AI calls per test (cost: ~$1.50-2.00 per test)
• Audio generation: Listening and speaking sections require AI text-to-speech for each question — 20-30 audio files generated per test (cost: ~$2.50-3.50 per test)
• Speech evaluation: Each speaking response is processed through AI transcription + phoneme-level pronunciation assessment — up to 16 separate evaluations per test (cost: ~$1.50-2.00 per test)
• AI scoring: Every writing and speaking answer is individually evaluated by AI for content, grammar, coherence, and task achievement (cost: ~$1.00-1.50 per test)

A single full mock test triggers over 100 individual AI service calls across question generation, audio synthesis, speech recognition, and scoring. These costs are incurred by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Microsoft Azure) the moment you begin and cannot be recovered. The total AI processing cost per test is $6-9, which is why we cannot offer refunds after a test has started.

5. Technical Issues

If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from completing a test (server error, scoring failure, etc.), contact us immediately at support@mocktestprepai.com. We will either:

• Provide a replacement test credit at no additional cost
• Extend your subscription period to compensate for lost time
• Issue a partial refund if the issue was caused by our platform

Technical issues must be reported within 72 hours with details (screenshot, error message, date/time).

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

1. Email support@mocktestprepai.com with subject "Refund Request"
2. Include your account email, purchase date, and reason for the request
3. We will review your request within 2 business days
4. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method via Stripe within 5-10 business days
